WSG at The AusIMM Open Pit / Iron Ore Conference

The AusIMM Open Pit / Iron Ore Conference in Perth has ended for another two years.

One message from the conference that came through loud and clear is the future of mining isn’t just about collecting more data—it’s about delivering trusted, timely insights that drive better decisions across the entire mining value chain. This aligns closely with WSG’s focus on automated logging, orebody characterisation, digital workflows, and integrated field-to-delivery systems that help transform data into actionable intelligence.

It was a busy week for WSG with daily live demonstrations of the HELMS in action and Carlie Byrne’s talk on ‘DrillTime’ Orebody Definition via Blasthole Logging. With a busy auditorium Carlie shared how real-time geophysical logging is providing data when it matters and transforming resource recovery, mine safety, and operational decision-making.

Through robotic deployment, integrated geophysical acquisition, automated quality control, and direct model updates, mines can now access richer datasets while reducing personnel exposure in active mining environments.

If you missed Carlies presentation or didn’t have the opportunity to see the automated HELMS Logging truck in action, reach out to one of the WSG team.

Thank you to the organisers at AusIMM and those who took the time to connect with WSG over the week.
